WORKING ON THE RAIL PTS CARDS

Working on the Rail

PTS Cards

If you are interested in working on rail projects and going trackside you will need to obtain a Sentinel Primary Sponsor and a PTS accreditation, the sponsor could be your employer or a rail recruitment agency provider who are RISQS accredited, like Keyman.

PTS/Sentinel cards are not available to the general public, you’ll need a sponsor to purchase one on your behalf once all training has been completed and passed.

To be PTS (Personal Track Safety) accredited you will have to do a medical and D&A test and complete an E-Learning PTS course prior to the PTS course in a classroom which is usually over two days.

Once you have passed the PTS course your sponsor will order you a Sentinel card which will show your competency to work on the railway.

Some rail roles will require additional training, but this will be discussed as and when required.
